Childproofing and baby proofing in Buckhead
Baby proofing for Buckhead's larger homes, traditionals, and modern new builds. Multi-story gates, high-end cabinet hardware, and full-home installs.
Buckhead homes need more childproofing than most
Buckhead homes are typically larger, more vertical, and more complex than the average Atlanta house. Two- and three-story floor plans are the norm. Many homes have a finished basement with its own staircase, a main floor with an open kitchen-to-living-room flow, and a second floor with four or more bedrooms. That means more gates, more cabinet runs, more rooms to anchor furniture in, and more total stairs to make safe.
It is not unusual for a full home install in Buckhead to involve six or seven baby gates, fifteen or more cabinet locks, and a dozen anchor points across bedrooms, offices, and playrooms. Larger homes take longer to assess, and the full-home package is usually the right starting point.
The Buckhead-specific challenges
- Multiple staircases. Main stairs, basement stairs, and sometimes a rear kitchen stair or a servant-stair to a bonus room. Each one needs a hardware-mounted gate at the top, and usually at the bottom too.
- Wide openings in open-concept floor plans. Modern Buckhead builds frequently have a kitchen island that opens to a great room with a 60 to 72 inch passage. Standard 30 to 42 inch gates do not reach. We carry extension panels to bridge these.
- High-end custom cabinetry. Custom kitchens with soft-close doors and furniture-grade finishes need lock hardware that does not damage the face. We default to magnetic locks on these, installed from the inside so nothing is visible.
- Heavy solid-wood furniture. Real dressers, armoires, and bookshelves are heavier than IKEA equivalents and therefore more dangerous if they tip. Anchoring matters even more on solid pieces because they can fall harder.
- Window safety above the first floor. Many Buckhead homes have windows on upper floors that open wide. Window stops and guards are common additions.
What full-home installs look like here
A Buckhead full-home childproofing visit usually runs 5 to 7 hours and covers the main level, upper floor, and basement in one day. We bring everything: gates, locks, anchors, outlet plates, corner guards, window stops, and door lever locks. You do not need to buy anything ahead of time, and we confirm product choices with you during the assessment, not after.
We also commonly install in Buckhead condos and townhomes, especially around the Peachtree corridor and West Paces Ferry. High-rise condos have their own quirks (shared hallway doors, balcony access, window cord safety) and we handle those too.

Learn moreBuckhead childproofing questions
- Do you serve all of Buckhead?
- Yes. We cover the entire Buckhead area, including Tuxedo Park, West Paces Ferry, Garden Hills, Peachtree Heights, and the high-rise corridor along Peachtree Road. If you are in 30305, 30327, 30319, or 30342, we come to you.
- How long does a full-home childproofing visit take in a Buckhead home?
- Buckhead homes are typically larger than the metro average, so a full-home install runs 5 to 7 hours. That includes the main level, upper floor, and basement. We schedule the work so it finishes in one day whenever possible.
- Can you install childproofing in a Buckhead high-rise condo?
- Yes. High-rise condos along Peachtree have their own quirks: shared corridor doors, balcony rail safety, and window cord hazards. We handle all of these and will flag anything that cannot be made fully safe so you can plan around it.
- Do you handle the wide kitchen openings common in newer Buckhead builds?
- Yes. New Buckhead construction frequently has 60 to 72 inch passages between the kitchen and great room. We use extension panels with hardware-mounted gates to bridge openings up to 72 inches.
